About this Blog

We Live, We Learn is dedicated to reflecting on life as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages. As a teacher in this realm, I have the pleasure of working with students from all over the world. I teach adults in an Intensive English Program (IEP) and train teachers online in a Distance Education (DE) program through the American English Institute, University of Oregon. Balancing face to face and online instruction is both rewarding and challenging.

The students that I teach face to face have moved to the United States and are aspiring to enter an American University. They are living far away from their homes, immersed in a culture that is foreign to them, but is my own. My online students are established teachers in countries all over the world. Technology allows us to connect and learn from one another; we build a virtual learning community together.

In this blog, I reflect on my life as a teacher providing the most up to date information about who my learners are, the kinds of activities we are doing, and what we are collectively learning. I have titled this blog, "We Live, We Learn" because very simply put, that is what we continually do. Happy reading!
